Okay, here we go...
RT, I appreciate anyone who is willing to offer me advice. I happened to read on a different thread about a similar problem another member had. For some reason or another, a clutch fluid change fixed his problem.
I directed xviper (who advised the fluid change for the other member) to this thread to see if he thought the fluid change would fix my problem. So far, I have not heard of xviper giving anyone bad advice or leading members on wild goose chases to fix problems so I'll listen to what he has to say. Same goes for you.
I've also gotten advice from others on this thread and I'm definitely not discounting their experiences either. But, as my warranty has run out and anything done to my car will be paid for out of pocket, I prefer to take my wild stabs in the dark in order of the affordability of the stab. So far I've been following Tedster's advice (change the tranny fluid and pray) and everything seems to be working better.
As soon as I have the time (I was supposed to do it today but something came up) the fluid will be changed. If the problem goes away, then super. If it doesn't, I'll move on to the next cheapest stab in the dark.
Even if you and xviper and and cdelena and everyone else on this board know more than me about the S2000 I believe I can be a pretty good judge of what's "potentially dangeous"...and a clutch fluid change isn't. Worst case scenario: I have clean clutch fluid and move on to the TSB (BTW, thanks for the spoon feed ). Sounds like a plan to me...
I thank you and everyone else for the advice and I will keep this thread updated as my pockets lighten. Stay tuned

OK, be aware that the fluid xviper is talking about and the fluid Tedster is talking about are completely different ......... one is clutch hydraulic fluid and the other transmission oil, respectively ....... Good Luck!
BTW, In my earlier post, I should have bolded the word irrelevant because the clutch fluid (along w/ the air in the tires needing changed) is for your problem as described.

I'm aware of the difference.
Transmission oil: Already done
Clutch fluid: Soon to be done, regardless of irrelevancy
Air in tires: fresh, although following my own "cheapest stab" line of thinking I should have done this a long time ago. Maybe right after I refilled my washer fluid which, by the way, didn't fix my transmission either

As that "someone" who gave the "bad" advice, let me quote you excerpts from my first response:
1st, Dave "INVITED" me to this thread to lend some help to his situation.
2nd, Read my post CAREFULLY!

Boy, I leave my computer for a few hours, and WWIII breaks loose. Sorry I stirred up so much do-do. I realize now that the political overtones of the past several years are beyond my comprehension. Honestly, I didn't mean to create this much friction.
On a positive note, I'm glad that dave22 has a handle on the problem, I learned something new about my S2000, and I got a front row seat to a real brawl (but honestly, I prefer watching a couple of cute babes going at it). I think that in the future, I'll probably keep my contributions car-related.

definitely, like I said in my rant, this thread, by itself, isn't a big deal at all ...... I was just trying to explain to shalom44 (j/k ) the reason the sarcasm on my part comes up from time to time ....... I am 100% sure if you were ever out our way you'd have a blast w/ the PacNW gang and don't forget to mention jerrypeterson (father of S2000 Porn and king of the hype) when you're taking PacNW ...........
