I have the Spoon thermostat and Spoon fan switch. It made a huge difference on my car. I was seeing 4 bars occasionally in normal driving in Phoenix, now I occasionally see 2 bars cruising in 80 degree temperatures. I also noticed less hesitation and rough idle in stop/go traffic after making the change.

Several people have pointed out that 2 bars may be too cool for the engine, so I will probably have to reinstall my grill cover during winter to keep the engine warmer.

Overall, I think it is an important mod for owners in hot climates.

Yes, I had Axcilla's grill cover installed. My temperature problems were so bad that I hit 4 bars once at an exit off the interstate after cruising at a steady 75mph for a couple of miles. (I am sure you remember the flame war that erupted when I recommended that owners in hot climates remove the grill cover...now I try not to even say the words 'grill cover' out loud.)

After removing the grill, installing the Spoon products and going to WaterWetter, I saw a large, immediate difference in the engine temperature (i.e., it took a mile longer for the car to hit 3 bars in the morning, the car would be at 1 bar instead of 3 bars after sitting in the parking lot at work for 2 hours, the heat from the console and firewall areas wasn't a problem anymore, etc.).

I will be doing some spirited driving next weekend in the mountains and expect the temps to be in the 40's and 50's. I intend to re-install the grill cover to ensure that the car stays at 3 bars during the driving.
