well first of all our engines take almost 6 quarts. I just put in 6 because the extra .3 quart will be burnt off in 1000 miles anyway. so there's ur problem

too much engine oil will result in foaming, oil foam have not lubrication protection again wear and friction.

don't pour too much into it just because it burns oil, you should top it off as i get low.

just a friendly memo.

to the op: is there leak? the motor tense to burn some oil, this is why you should check oil level at the pump if not sooner.

i dont think its leaking.. i havent really checked it though. engine bay still looks good. i will check tomm. i had to get a new oil filter.. would that effect it? i doubt it.

noticed last time i drove i put my ac on the 3rd speed and all the way cool and wasnt blowing cold for a few min.

ahh anyone else know the problem

Well the A/C is a whole different problem. I suggest filling it to the MAX and check it every week to see if it goes down. And I would start w/ 5.5 quarts at least since the filter takes .25. I think mine was leaking around the valve cover gasket a lot since it wasn't changed in 90k miles!

Whatever you do, DO NOT drive the car if it is low on oil. Just top it up before you start the engine again and then complain to the Acura dealership.

Dont forget fresh oil is usually pretty clear, its not going to be a black line on the dipstick. I would only put the same oil that acura put in for you.

Are you sure your not overlooking the oil on the stick? Like the above poster mentioned its gonna be fairly clear just a slight tan color to it.
