dunno but make sure you have enough antifreeze...or also your thermostat....

i know it has no relation but maybe....my eclipse the thermostat broke and was stuck open or something and it caused my car to not have heat unless i drove it for like 2 hours straight... just a thought.

i think the thermostat is ok because it maintains the proper engine temp. how can i test that valve?

I had this problem in my Crx before and the culprit was the thermostat.

Once i changed the thermostat, the heater worked beautifully.

My thermostat got stuck open on my 96 eclipse in january, causing my coolant to never go over 130ish so that cause a lack of heat for me in that situation. Are you having problems reaching opperating coolant temp? (200F)

OOPS didnt read above post, I guess I would check the valve and or the heater core. Or try bleeding the system

the control valve is not working how can i find out what is the problem with that valve. what controls it?
so the valve does not move when you move the temp knob from hot to cold and cold to hot correct?
try removing the cable from the valve. it should slide right off. you might have to remove the bracket first. now try moving the temp knob back and fourth agian. does the cable move as well?
if the cable moves, try moving the valve by hand. it might be sticking.
if the cable does not move with the temp knob, then your problem is within the controls.

ok ok i will try that in the morning. if it is in the controls, is it just the accual controls or is there a control module under the dash? something has to pull the cable connected to that valve?
