dunno but make sure you have enough antifreeze...or also your thermostat....
i know it has no relation but maybe....my eclipse the thermostat broke and was stuck open or something and it caused my car to not have heat unless i drove it for like 2 hours straight... just a thought.

OOPS didnt read above post, I guess I would check the valve and or the heater core. Or try bleeding the system

try removing the cable from the valve. it should slide right off. you might have to remove the bracket first. now try moving the temp knob back and fourth agian. does the cable move as well?
if the cable moves, try moving the valve by hand. it might be sticking.
if the cable does not move with the temp knob, then your problem is within the controls.

ok ok i will try that in the morning. if it is in the controls, is it just the accual controls or is there a control module under the dash? something has to pull the cable connected to that valve?
