great thanks. well, from the time i've been on this board ive read of a lot of weird little things about the s2k that seem to happen for no reason. like the driver side window auto down that just happens. the reset doesnt make the window auto down permenantly. i have no intention to over look this CEL but i just thought i would ask. i would take care of my car properly and i use this board for advice on what to do. i'm not trying to cut corners, if there is a problem i will fix it. i will get the code this weekend, the CEL isnt blinking its just contstanly on. i will check the gas cap, thanks for the advice. hope its nothing serious though

you can get the code yourself. it requires jumping 2 pins on the obd2 serial port.

If you get the code people with the Service Manual can look it up and give you the meaning and perhaps ways to remedy the situation.

You might want to tell him which two pins so he doesn't short something out if he decides to just guess which ones.

Modifry had this "pin jump" method and "blink codes" on his website, but I've not seen it for a while.

Is the Acura RSX the same as an S2K?

OBDII standard pinout should be the same. If you mean does that work on an S2000?, yes. I just like that example, it's really visual as far as the connector itself goes and the PINs themselves are numbered correctly according to OBDII standard.

EDIT: OBDII standard is the same.

You do understand OBDII is a standard right? I post everything I write as if I am unsure, It's my personality. I'll fix it for you. In fact if you look at Modifry's example, it is the exact same procedure. He just has the PINs labelled incorrectly. The reason I know they are incorrect is because of the OBDII standard. It's just a pet peeve that he has the PINs labelled wrong, because if someone were to attempt follow his directions without a visual aid, or relayed the info over the phone or something it could end badly for someone. I have tried to PM Modifry and email him twice before about his example with no luck. So if someone wants to tell him please do.
