Damn, Im going to be I/H/TP/E within the next month or two (just the header left, which might go on this week).
I have an AP2 should I be concerned with not having my engine tuned?
I know you can squeeze a couple more HP out of the car when tuned, but should I jump on a VAFC/NEO (which one is better?) I know the Greddy EMU is a good NA setup but I might now want to spend the loot.

You won't be able to use a VAFC or NEO for an AP2, since they rely completely on MAP voltage manipulation for fuel tuning. Since AP2's run much leaner than AP1's while stock, you have to use something that will allow you to add fuel, which MAP based piggy backs can't do.

I'll be safe for awhile without tune then?
What would be suggested for tuning that wont break the bank?

Sorry, hell no. If you have "good" versions of I/H/TP/E, your AP2 motor will begin the slow death of detonation without a tune. I still have my stock exhaust, but when I put my ECU back to the stock tune, it was running CRAZY lean at full throttle (ie. 14.7:1).

AEM V2
Berk Header
Berk TP
HKS Exhaust

This combination might not make me run too lean since I'm only running 2.5" max. What should I tune with for this setup on an AP2? (sorry but my search isnt working at all or I would have done it already)

well I just found a GEMU in the classifieds, which I hope to be the front runner for. I hope this will help.

I think the GEMU would be the most practical option, assuming you have someone in your area that is good at tuning it.

My setup is almost the same with 2.5in as the goal. VAFC is cost effective and was able to squeeze out 14HP & 4TQ.

So there is some confliction... The VAFC will do wonders at a lower cost..? Above someone says that it wont help the situation...

Im confused?
