I Can't Redline! HELP!

I too am not sure about the safe mode idea? I am wondering if it is a myth.
In my last comment, I mentioned that my car is always warm... This is a no brainer.
I removed the map sensor and gave it a good whack. I also checked to see if I had any new CEL and I did not. I checked the oil level and it is low. I will head to the store shortly and purchase some oil and let you know if this resolves my issues. I really hope that it does because I am getting worried.
Even without a check engine light, oil pressure can be too low for VTEC to function as it should?
Also regarding the MAP sensor, I am not sure that I have ever heard of it causing an issue that didn't allow the car to pull to red line.
Just talking out loud here.
Any other ideas guys?

Was your oil light flickering as you neared redline? Also, you mention the problem starting to occur after the car threw a CEL for the secondary O2. You seem to have answered your own question, I'd get to work on the secondary O2.

What people with test pipes and 02 sensors.
The problem I believe has occurred since my cel flashed for my 02 sensor but I don't know if it was immediately following.
Anyway, I added some oil and took the car out for a spin and the car is doing the same thing.
The car seems to give up at around 8500-8600 rpms. What is odd is that I can feel it begin to struggle in all of the gears.
A few minutes ago, I red lined the car in first, second and third third gear at 89 miles per hour I was at about 85 or 8600 rpm's and this doesn't seem correct.
Does this register anything to you guys?

Just my $0.02...in most cars with an OBDII system, if an o2 sensor fails, the car tends to run on the rich side for safety issues. Richer is most of the time safer than leaner. Therefore I'm in agreement with s2k dre. You'd be surprised what a rich A/F mixture can do to the performance of your car! Get that sensor changed and try again! =)

So because of the SECONDARY O2 being the cause of my CEL it is making the ecu send more fuel?
The secondary O2 is in the catalytic converter and monitors emissions in the cat.
Anyway, I ordered the O2 and am attempting to source a catalytic converter or a testpipe with CEL fix so that I can try to get to the root of this problem.
Do any of you have a testpipe that you don't need?

Supposedly the secondary O2 sensor is simply a check of CAT performance and does not influence mixture or performance
If the O2 sensor was damaged by the loose element in the CAT (which is common) the new one will fail the same way. I suggest you take it to Honda and ask for a fix under the 8/80 emissions warranty.
Your failure to get to the redline still sounds like a MAP problem to me; it is not the first one to act like that.
