Default I can't lock my S2k

Hi all!
New member and very proud owner of an ap2 2004 GT UK model

So the issues here are that 1. I can't lock the car from the inside or outside, 2. the lock button on the key fob does not work either and despite trying to set the alarm off it won't go off, the key fob flashes the hazard lights and pops open the boot/trunk but won't lock the car, manually using the key doesn't work either. I'm guessing these problems are all related, I can't even lock the passenger door.... any ideas..?
When trying to lock from the inside the door lock won't budge from the unlocked position it seems to be stuck

Many many thanks in advance

1. You can only lock the car from the inside if you pull the inside door handle, then move the door lock. It's a safety feature so you don't accidentally lock your car.

2. All doors must be closed for the the car to lock from the outside with the fob or key, if any door is even slightly open it won't lock. Trunk, hood and doors.

3. If it still doesn't work after you've tried the above, you might have a problem with your latch and/or lock actuator.

so your doors won't lock with the key. sounds like you have a mechanical issue with the locks. as far as the alarm, it's an immobilizer, not anti theft.

Tsmac- well I've def heard it alarm in the past, could I have an aftermarket alarm fitted? I'm guessing it's not working as it's related, I'll have a poke around behind the door panel, there is def something up as the internal handle on the drivers side doesn't retract all the way in either, thanks all for ur input, I'm guessing this isn't a common fault then.

Well I got chance to poke around with the door panel off today, could not see anything obvious but I did notice that when trying to manually lock the drivers door there was no feeling of "click" into place unlike the passenger door where I could feel it click both ways but still either door does not lock, had a spray up with the wd40 but still no luck, Ill b honest, I'm stumped! Either the actuator is failing or the door lock itself is at fault, moving the lock mechanism rods inside the door felt like it wasn't fully going where it needed to, it was also flexing the outer door panel when manually trying to lock the drivers door with the key, the passenger door did the same too but perhaps not as much. Any further ideas..? Just trying to avoid a dealer visit if this is something I can do myself, my aim is todo as much as possible and learn along the way.
