Default Hydrolock?

Hey folks I have a slight problem.

I drive a turbo'd 02 Spa yellow S2000. City was letting water out of a fire hydrant and I was forced through the "river" with my S. well as I exited I let her have it (lets say to dry the rear tires off) and I heard a loud POP and now a slow idling motor with a loud knock. My big question is can water get sucked into an intercooler or how might have water got in my motor?

Wooooooooow, that sucks man. May I ask how exactly you were "forced" through? I would have found a way around it...

Well everyone was going through it and I didn't see what the traffic was till I was a car or 2 from it. So was I forced? No but have gone through some decent puddles no worries didn't think twice about it. Now if it is possible for water to get through a intercooler I need to see if my comprehensive coverage will cover it:/

I do not think it is at all possible for water to be sucked up through the intercooler. Maybe they are two completely unrelated events? How deep was the water?

I'm lowered and It appeared it might have been up about half way up my rim maybe a little lower. The Hyundai SUV in front of me looked like it was parting the Red Sea.

How low was your intake? Was it wet as well?

Other way it could have entered the intercooler is if the couplers themselves were loose.

Well to answer the question is no if everything is correct, then water can't get sucked into an inctercooler. Think about it. it's an airtight system. Only way it could is if a coupler was loose like orjinal ^^ said but that seems unlikey. It is possible that your intake got submerged if low enough.
To me - this sounds like two unrelated things like spinning a bearing or something especially how you said it was still idling.

It is definantly a valve I hear the knocking and the vacuum is pulsating but the intake is too high for the water. Thanks all I guess I will have to call the insurance and see if it is covered.
