I don't know if it is accurate, but I heard that the cam profiles had been modified as part of the upgrade from pre'04 to '04. It could be wrong information, or that the F22c does actually have new cam profiles. Or, it could be that there are new cam profiles for both the '04 F22c AND the F20c.

Just a thought. Again, I don't know if this information is accurate or not. I believe I heard it on an episode of Motorweek.

well i looked at the part numbers and they are differant for the 04 and 03 cylinderhead. But i dont see why with an aem ems properly tuned that you couldnt run an 04 2.2 lt all the way to 9000.

Yes, the cam profiles have been revised. Among other things both intake valves now run the same profile off VTEC, previously they were different to help promote swirl. Not sure why....

List of difference that I'm aware of:
crank, rods, cams, valve springs (PCX -> PZX), rocker arms, retainers, valve cover & PCV breather, oil pump, oil jets (-010), flywheel, alternator (-J02), coil (PNA K-series common), exhaust header, throttle body, injectors

Things that are the same: block (short block assy is new P/N due to oil jets), pistons, head, oil pan & baffle, water pump, clutch & pressure plate, starter, auto tensioner, intake manifold

Some of the reasons why are not so obvious, like why the heck the alternator changed? Maybe just part commonization....?? Certianly is a lot more changes than you would expect for a stroker.

Is the '04 flywheel heavier than the previous years? We have felt this discernable difference on the 2.2.L.

That is not correct. It's traditional style just heavier.

Don't remember the weights exactly but it was like 6.8kg vs 9.3kg.
