Default hummm... worth buying new F20C

hey guys, I've had my S2000 for about two months now, and I'm seeing a S/C in the future. Probably the far future but i have 1634XX miles and i'm wondering if it would be a better idea to save up for a new f20c, or if a 170k mile engine can handle a s/c. Also what price would i possibly be looking at for the actual swap? thanks

You should evaluate the condition of your engine. Get a leakdown test/compression test and I'd take this question over to the Forced Induction section

Consider that somewhere around 220K your motor is going to start to really show it's age. I wouldn't be looking to boost a motor with 25% of it's life left.

This leaves you with a few options. Rebuild, new motor, or boost the current until something fails.

All have pros and cons, the cheapest is to boost the current and replace what breaks.

Swapping the motor is an awful lot of work. If you did choose to go that route, I would probably advise a low mileage F22 instead. It will be cheaper than a new F20 and also make more power once you put the blower on it.

I'd just do a leak down test ect, but I would just build the motor. It will be like new
