humming with 4.56 gears
#12
What color car, SHOULD I get, Matt?
The 4.57 gears are no longer in production. The currently available set is the 4.56R from www.ricks2k.com.
Also available are 4.44 and 4.77. The 4.44 would get you not QUITE as much accel as the 4.56, and the 4.77 gets you more. However, the cost of this is shorter gears and a lowered top speed.

why dont you create a thread in UTH and ask that.
According to the gear calculator here:

On an AP1, a 4.56 final drive will change your top speed from a theoretical 164.5 to 148.7. The bottom line is, it's not a life changing drop in top speed, but it might be something to consider.

I think 148 is uncorrected with tire flex. I've redlined my car bouncing off the limiter at 155mph. i mean, a guy i know did it.
anywho, even if it was only 148, realistically, you're not losing much, since the stock car is drag limited to about 155 anyways.
and yes, if you posted such a thread, i'd drive my s2000 right into the back of that big shiny corvette of yours.

You'd have to catch it first, son.
Was that 155 displayed on the speedo? I have seen that the speedo is not too accurate at those speeds. I will be conducting some scientific experiments on a closed course on the way to the dragon in a stock AP1 and a GPS.
