humming with 4.56 gears
i had ramjet install my 4.56 gears a few months back, i bought the entire diff and comptech already installed and then i sent back my stock diff for the core deposit. The humm started a few weeks back, i did the proper break in 5 times rather than the 3 that i heard reccomended. After the break in i have taken it easy no hard accelerating or high speeds above 75 or so. The humm starts around 60 and stops after i get above 75, i havent taken it over 80mph yet though so i cant comment on that, i have about 300-350 miles on the car since the install, and i have no changed the fluid yet, ram jet put the fluid in and he said it was what he has put in almost all the s2k's they have done. I have abottle of LE607 i will put in eventually. i know the 4.57's had humming problems but have any 4.56 owners had the same problem. I dont drive the car often and when i do its hardly ever on the freeway, so i just started to notice the problem. does anyone have any ideas about what to do about this? if worse comes to worse and i have to just live with the humm thats fine, but i want to make sure im not damaging anything inside the diff. any opinions would be great. thanks.

What are final gear sets made for? WHat would a 4.57 do for a stock S2K? Whats the stock gear set at? Im confused on how these work and how they help if you get a 4.57. Im new to learning about all this stuff, so I may have stupid questions. But I am all about increasing my '00 S2K's power by going all motor.

the gears really pep the car up, my best friend has a c5 z06 and he loves the s2k, he would have gotten one if he wasnt 6'6", but when i let him drive the car with the gears in it he felt it was a totally different car, he loved how it drove with the new gear, said it put the car in a different category of speed.
Wisconsin, I do not know what fluid they put in, but he said it was the same stuff he had put in countless other s2k's he had done. I have a bottle of LE 607 and i will put it in there after break-in period (is is 500 or 1000 miles?)

If you listen carefully, stock gears also make noise, although it's something you'd have to really listen for (with radio off, top up).
I haven't gotten my gears yet, but I think people seem to make a bigger deal out of the noise since you're more "aware" of the car, and looking for something strange.
Besides, you can always say "it adds character"
