Default HT install kit

Yesterday I installed the hardtop installation kit. Following the instruction I noted that the wiring harness is seperated and taped in place with 3M cushion tape.
My question is- Is there any reason behind this advice? I simply wadded up the harness and stuffed in the little cubby-hole behind the rear trim panel. Can anyone imagine a reason it shouldn't be done this way?

It doesnt matter. Putting the tape on it will keep it in place and maybe keep it from rustling around or something. I didnt tape mine down.

Me either. I just left is hand there. Now it was a PIA to close everthing back up, so I assume it makes that easier too.
