Yea its hard to hear in the under car video. I say you can hear it most at around 50 seconds into the video. Its like a roaring sound. I wonder why the sound is so much worse with the car in the air. That should be a good sign of what the issue can be.

No it will just turn the engine over if your trq exceeds the compression of the motor along with the gear reduction of being in fist gear. There is nothing that is frozen that you are working against that can break or bend.

Hey guys back for a update , sorry for the delay its been pouring rain here nearly everyday for the past week , but I was able to take the drive shaft off and put the exhaust back on this morning to test the transmission. The Transmission seems to sound fine to me and there is no more howling sound in the rear since the rear end has been removed. This makes me more sure now that its an issue with the diff. I will post a video of the transmission a little later when i get some free time.

I wish puddymod or billman can come in this thread and hear my diff sound videos, so they can shed more light on this and what they think this may be. Everyone's inputs welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Hi, more easy to just call 352-6 five zero-three seven six three
i bet the pinion gear is stress cracked. The lsd will be smooth one direction but the opposite direction will feel rough this is normal just how the gears cut.

Thanks for responding puddy, I be sure to give you call once i get some free time some time this week. The noise was alot worse with the car in the air then it is when its on the ground driving. is that a red flag for anything ? why the difference?

Also, always wondering do all ap2 diffs fit every yearr? example will a 07-08 diff fit my 05 and vice versa. i notice the newer ap2 diffs have a small black box attached to them .

Hey guys coming back with a new and final update on this case. Finally got in contact with Puddymod (rear end master here in the forum), I decided to send in my diff to get inspected and rebuilt if needed. Sure enough Puddymod found a issue with the diff. Received the rebuilt diff and installed it. Happy to say the noise is gone, the car is back to running smooth and quiet. Finally able to enjoy the car again. I want to give a huge thank you to Puddymod and definitely recommend to anyone who suspects any issues with your rear end.

Will be posting pics and some more details soon.

Shoot, I confirmed my noise not to be the diff. Was hoping you'd have an update to it being something I didn't think of.

Hey guys I now many of you wanted to get more details on the fix for this issue. Glad to say the car has been quiet and smooth ever since. Huge thank you for Puddy Mod for the diff rebuild.

The details: After puddy mod received my diff, he got back to me and let me know what he found. The ring gear damaged on nearly every tooth and a bad contact pattern (pictured below) along with the corresponding marks on the pinion itself. Both pieces wear replaced and cryo treated. Along with rebuilding the diff with new seals. Lesson learned that no metal shavings in the diff fluid doesnt always mean your diff is fine. I had zero shavings from flushing the diff fluid hoping for the fix.
