Default how/when does the knock sensor get broken

Just curious how it can be broken during a clutch change when it doesn't seem to be in a very vulnerable spot???

The upper starter bolt is buried under the intake manifold. The direct line of sight from under the intake manifold is about 1" fromthe knock sensor.

hidden bolt + 24" extension and socket = broken knock sensor.

^ ahh $h!t. Well I guess we will find out soon enough. I guess it won't effect me until I hit the dyno and we aren't getting any voltage readings.

Although I did come in from more of an angle. From the drivers side corner I guess.
Another thing I found is its easier to get to some of the bolts with the valve cover off.
