how to untighten lug nut

Unfortunately this is a scene that repeats itself everywhere. I used to work at a shop where some general service techs would torque wheels with the gun past 170lbs of torque, only to see the same car on a flatbed next week with a flat tire because the driver could not get the wheel off with the hand tool. Go figure!

if your breaking sockets, use impact sockets, they are black looking and take a lot more abuse.

BUT, if the lug is crossthreaded, your boned.

yep, black matte ugly one are rated for impact vs chrome hand tool only

Those were sockets included with the wheels.

I called the shop and they willing to fix it, appointment for tomorrow...

Well, they removed the lug nut and said yes, it was a bit overtighten. I guess my sockets made from some weak metal Have to buy a new socket...
