Default How to remove complete soft top

Is there a DIY on how to remove the complete soft top (frames, motors and all) I know its much easier than taking out the cloth and replacing it to the frame...or if anyone could give me steps on the process...

have my00, doin some research on replacin rear window

It is covered in excellent detail in the Helm Manual. Just follow the instructions in the proper order and you will be fine.

It helps to remove the back wall of the trunk interior trim (so you can access the softtop area through the trunk). This is not strictly necessary, though.

Actually the glass top conversion isnt that bad. Bolting in the new frame is a lot more works since you have to remove everything behind the seats to get access to the bolts for the frame. With the conversion you just have to remove some trim panels, remove bolts and drills some holes. I have done both and would rather do the conversion over the full frame.
