I've never, ever heard of the VTEC system failing on an S2000.

Anything's possible, though.

I usually VTEC about 2-3 times per day, and I have had no problems.

the only possibility i can think of is when the vtec solenoid fails, but that is kind of rare and happens after 60k on other DOHC VTEC honda cars(like ITR, prelude VTEC, etc...).

I probably hit vtec 3-4 times per day, unless its an autocross day - then its about 25 times.
Just don't do it until the engine is at full temp.

Dang, I wish I had the opportunity to do it 3-4 times a day, I maybe get 3-4 a month... Daily my car gets a high rev of maybe 4500.

I only hit VTEC just before I shift it (in the lower gears, of course). I do try and keep it somewhere near the speed limit.

I really don't think that you are going to wear anything out, so enjoy it. Now that I have my CAI installed, you can really hear the VTEC kick in.

First off, it's VTEC, not V-Tec. And do you even know what VTEC is to be asking this question?
