Default How to reduce "tin-can" sound (exhaust + tp)

I have no clue if my exhaust, tp, or the thin metal piece above the tp is resonating to make a tin-can noise. Anyone experience this? You can click on my sig to check out the video.

What exhaust etc do you have? If it is non-resonated, then having a shop add a resonator to the exhaust should cure the problem.

Yes the exhaust is non-resonated, there is a clip of it in my signature.

Asked yesterday.

Really not a fix other than re installing cat.

or you could maybe have someone add resonators to the exhaust.

A resonated test pipe could also help, I have an invidia that is known to have a buzzing sound with a test pipe. I will be adding a resonated test pipe to it at the end of the week. I also swapped out the invidia resonator for the OEM resonator. I'm hoping all of the above will cut out most if not all of the drone, while eliminating or keeping buzz to a minimum. I'll try to post my results.

Like I said in the other thread.

My opinion, is basically this; there is at least 2x the flow of exhaust allowed when switching to a TP essentially the mufflers can't handle the roller coaster of changing pressures - causing the turbulence and a shitty sound.

I have it now - very raspy/airy I've had two diff. TPs and a Comptech HighFlow Cat (which sounded AWESOME compared to any TP) now I have a gutted High Flow Cat b/c the baffles inside broke free. I hate it.

I need another High Flow Cat.
