I live in Florida too, and I also think that changing oil every month (without covering over 3k miles) is a waste. Unless there is a compelling reason to do otherwise (suspicious Used Oil Analyses, heavy track use, etc.) I change the oil every 5k miles. Unnecessary oil changes are a waste of our petroleum resources with no (0) benefit.

"Someone like you" sounds prejudicial, and I'm sure that you didn't mean to sound that way, right?

Still a waste...regardless, your logic is flawed....
a total waste of money and a waste of our resources.
I suggest you pull your head out of your ass and do some reasearch....the simplest
thing you can do is RTFM.....but i wouldnt expect someone like you to understand.

When you press the trip minder the maintance minder appears with a number 1 through 6. Transmission change is due when "3" appears and Diff when "6" appears.

And where did you come by this info?

Do the numbers count "down"? Generally, the diff fluid would be changed before the tranny fluid.

As for the OPs comment:
[QUOTE]If you would read the entire post I clearly stated that I heard that the maintnence minder system wasn't very reliable.

The numbers 1 through 6 along with the symbols AorB are displayed to the left side of the MM window. No milage that I can find are related to these numbers or symbols. The only milage suggested is the differential under heavy mountainous use has a suggested change at 15,000miles.
It's in the OM.
