Default How much will it be for turboharged 450 rwhp on pump gas?

How much money would be required to turbo charge the s2000 2.0l engine to 450 rwhp on pump gas? Is there a shop with a website that has staged upgrades for this car. I'm deciding whether to buy this car or the Evolution and the Evo already has many set staged upgrades for the car.

So I'm talking about 3in turboback exhaust with high flow exhaust, a nice dual-ballbearing turbo that should spool around 3800rpms, and all the supporting hardware: pistons, connecting rods, ported head, camshafts, intake manifold and equal legdth exhaust manifold....bla,bla

Thanks people.

Alot because you will need to keep on replacing the motors that you will most likely blow...

With the forged pistons and new con rods, I doubt that he will blow the engine - that is as long as he sleeves the block. The differential is another story though.

And you are talking about a lot of money. $6000 for the turbo, $1700 for the AEM EMS with wideband, $1200 - 1800 for the head work, and $5000 for the sleeving, pistons and rods. $14000 to $15000 ought to do it. Of course this assumes you are going to take the engine out of the car and send it out for the buildup. Then, when you get it back, install the turbo, put the engine back in, and tune the EMS. If someone else does this work for you, then add about another$3000 to $5000.

fperra, this is in direct contradiction to a few people who have claimed that adding a turbo is "cheap" ($4000.00 or less) and "easy". Could those people possibly be just a tiny bit naive? Mind you, some of these guys are talking purely from what they've "read" on the internet and are thus EXPERTS. You, on the other hand, "only" know this stuff from personal experience. Why should anyone believe you?
Personally, I'm a romantic and I think it's cheap and easy.

The other cost is $33K for an S2000. I'm pretty sure most of these questions, and a good deal of the answers come from office chair experts with a Hyundai in the garage.

$20K sounds about right. You should talk to cjb. He's actually done it.

My turbo has only cost me roughly 5,000 dollars thus far to install and tune. It just takes smart decisions.

UR Kit Used - $3500
Autometer Boost, A/F, EGT - $200
Profec E01 - $350
Install - $500
Tune - $350
Spark Plugs - $30
Oil - $20

This doesn't include my exhaust, since i got it a year ago before turbo decisions. The exhaust i'm running is J's N1.

You give me your car and I can get you 450rwhp with roughly 13k max.

All you pay me is 500 and i'll make sure it gets that #.

Mike Simon Built Short - $3500
SpeedCraft or UR Kit - both are capable of 450rwhp (talked to cjb and wesmaster about this) $4000 USED
Carsound 3" High Flow Cat - $90
Dual 3" exhuast with custom piping - $600
800+cc injectors - $550
AEM EMS - 1000
EUGO - 600
Spark Plugs - $30
Oil - $20
Install - $500
Tune - $500

11,390

The #'s are close to what i'm sure I can get the stuff for if not add 500 to it to be safe

Why would you want 450Hp on pump? It's useless on the street, break your drivetrain, and definatly put the motor at risk everytime you stump on it. Completely build the block....well, if you spend the money on the block, maybe you should cherish it and put some race gas in it and take it to the track to run high boost. Oh I forgot, you can't launch the s2000 good with that power at the track and get good 60 feet without towing the car home. I speak from experience, you don't have to believe me.

Get the EVO its a lot better for what you are wanting to be honest. 5K for single big turbo kit another 2 grand for clutch flywheel and Engine management and you will be running 11's easily
