I am looking at my recently acquired F20C for an 02 AP1, and I noticed that it has one Camshaft Position Sensor (Sensor B) the one that sits ontop of the valve cover.

However, the Factory Manual states that there is another Camshaft Position Sensor (Sensor A) on the driver side section of the valve cover.

Can somone please clarify this for me? I am freaking out trying to figure out if I got screwed over and got an AP2 head on an F20C block.

Do the early F20C's use only 1 cam position sensor? Thank yoU!!!!

My old '00 F20C2 has 2 cam sensors, so does the '05 F20C2 I'm using.
Both EUDM.
IIRC the F22 heads don't have the air injection port (its in the casting but not machined) either.
Maybe its "just" an AP2 valve cover?

all ap1's have 2 sensors at the rear valve cover, driver side and passenger side. I believe the ap2's changed to single sensors on 06+ models. 04-05 ap2s still used 2 sensors. I bought an 05 valve cover for my ap1 and it had the two mounting holes. If you only have one sensor then it is an 06+ engine part. I don't know what you could do to run one sensor on an ap1 setup.

Thanks guys. Yeah i did some further reading and found the single cam sensors are on the 06+ models like JFusion said.

I talked to the seller of the motor and he "says" he will get it taken care of. Which to me means either he gives me a partial refund, buys me a new valve cover, or I report him to eBay for failing to sell the correct components.
