How many bars do you run at on temp

4 bars is ok for a short amount of time. At 4 bars your fans should have come on. The thermostat fails open.

Yeah...4 bars is bad. Check to make sure you don't have a radiator leak.

4 bars on a Stock AP1 is overheating.

Is this a used car? Maybe the OP's car has the Modifry gauge mod installed and he doesn't know it.

Well if it does run to 4 bars i can excelerate and it will run down to 3 almost emediatly.

my possibilities

thermostat
weak water pump
clogged heater core

I have no coolant leaks...

That's because you are getting more airflow and thus more cooling.

Is the car used? You really might have the Modifry mod. IIRC, you can pop off the kick panel over the ECU and take a look. I think that's where it gets installed. It's been so long since I did mine that I don't remember for sure, though.

Ill look I doubt it the reason being it just started it has ran at 3 bars for some time.

^oook. If it just started somethings wrong. check it.

Make sure you have enough rad fluid to start...then see if you can burp the system

also, are your fans kciking on? when you say 'when I acc it goes away" it sounds like your fans arent kciking on, so when you get more airflow (moving) the temp goes down.

by the way, stop driving it too...aluminum block + overheating = easy way to warp your head.
