How low is to low to impact handling?

We've talked about it before in the racing & competition forum but I agree, I dont think it's been a topic of discussion in the "general interest" parts of the site. The problem is that no one really wants to admit that they a) bought a crappy suspension or b) that they sold you a crappy suspension.
