How Long Until Air Filter Fades to Yellow?
I just pulled out an OEM air filter and replaced it with a new OEM one and apart from being dirty, the old one is yellow instead of green. I'm wondering if it is at all possible that the old one is the original one that came with the car in '02, or if not, approximately how old it might be. Maybe it wouldn't really damage the engine, but it can't be good.
At the very least I'm hoping this will improve the 19.7mpg of the last tank.

I'm thinking they switched filter material recently. My old honda filter from 2004 was also yellow (more like grey) and the new one is green.
Same thing for the Integra filter I switched out recently, the new one is greenish.

Any idea how long ago they switched colors? The old one looks like it was never green.
BTW the car seems to be running a lot better, which I'm blaming for me doing a 180 after taking a turn too quickly. Time for new tires and/or less idiocy.
