How I replaced the left rear differential mount
This is how I replaced the left rear differential mount on my stock 2002 S2000.
This worked for me on my car and was very easy...after trying other methods without much luck. I am not saying this will work for everyone.
First, we Jacked up the car. Then we lowered the sway bar by removing the u clamps where the sway bar meets the frame.
Second, we lowered the exhaust by removing the rubber muffler hangers. No need to remove the exhaust at the cat. No need to remove the brace that is located in front of the diff.
Third, we supported the differential with a floor jack. Then we removed the center nuts of BOTH mounts and then the four bolts of each mount. It was necessary to do this on both mounts. We then pulled the two mounts rearward (toward back of car). This was done so that the center bolts of the diff mounts were exposed.
Fourth we lowered the diff gently and as little as possible until the mount came out. (the only way it could be lowered enough was for us to pull both mounts backward giving the diff room to move).
Lastly, we put everything back into place and properly torqued all the nuts and bolts. I estimate I could do this again in less than an hour. It would probably take a mechanic with a lift about a half hour.
