how hot do exhaust pipes get?

i need to coat it because its aluminum coat stainless or something like that...it kinda of looks looks rusty colored and i want it to look good

corrosion is always a good reason if we only all had the money for titanium this would be no issue huh?

Not too sure about the cats, probably 1000 degrees or so, since in a good running car EGT's (Exhaust Gas Temp) can run up to around 1400 degrees right at the cylinder head.
