hrm... i think i'm going to give the flip a try... the insides of my rears are showing some wear...
so... around 34 -36 psig for rears... what is a good pressure for the fronts? i'm guessing the same, but i'd like to verify to make sure. i just put a new set of S02's on the front and hope to keep them for a while... and i probably have about 9k on my rears and outside of some inner wear, they seem to be doing well... (i don't autox and no burnouts, etc.)

I don't flip, but so far my wear seems to be reasnably even. I run 36 psi on the fronts and 34-35 psi on the rears....gives the steering a bit of eagerness.

I got a quote from a local Tire Kingdom the other day: $30 per tire. When I immediately became apprehensive about the deal, he quickly said he'd do all 4 tires for $100 and then implied that our tires cost more because stiffer sidewalls take longer to mount. Smelled fishy to me, so I am shopping around.

Hehe, thanks. I'll check with some local ProCare's then. Someone also told me to try Discount Tire. They are supposed to be cheap. Plus, all the ones around here allow you to easily watch them work and since you are watching them, they always use a torque wrench on the lugnuts.

My experience with Discount tire is not very good. Around here, you hear many car guys talking about the "Discount Tire Torquing Technique" in a very bad way. When I asked how much my local Discount Tire would charge to mount and balance R compounds, they told me $150 for 4, since they are difficult to mount without damaging the wheel.
