How does an "performance" oil pan help?

I was at AMS, the mechanic is wrong on two issues. ONE S2000 (out of 7 present) had an engine problem, and the oil was full 600 miles before the problem occurred. The event was NOT run entirely on the oval. There is a road course at AMS involving many right and left hand turns, so there was never a period with sustained high lateral Gs. What fun would it be to drive our car on the oval .

The mechanic was correct that the engine WAS fixed under warrantee.

The oil starvation issue has been well documented. Barry is the keeper of this info, so hopefully he'll chime in here.

Another fact about the stock Honda pan is that it is a die cast aluminum unit rather than a stamped piece and according to Honda adds a certain amount of rigidity to the whole engine assembly
