Not familiar with the greddy system as here in the UK it is not an available product although my friend has bought one for his AW11 from the states.

But the piggy back units (perfect power SMT6) we use here when running a standard induction system. For fueling we use both MAP and lambda and for ignition timing we correct using the CAS and crankdegrees.

Thats basically how all ECU's calculate ignition timing.

Not used to all the american abreviations so excuse me if its been said before.

Unfortunately, the Greddy unit doesn't have access to the crank angle sensor or any of its data. They even point that fact out in their user manual and state there could be a +/- 1 degree error when the eManage adjusts timing.

Have you got the SMT6 working with the S2000's multicoil ignition? I know a guy here who played around with it and had some success using a wasted spark set up.

LOL, sorry no.
I do not own, nor have i put an SMT6 on an F20.

I'm simply on this site because i like the S2000 and am currently doing some flow development on the cylinder head. The engine facinates me, its lovely.

Anyway, PP supply an amplifier for coilpack setups and the SMT6 can handle an interlaced signal for 4 cylinder ignition control. Although i have no tried it on coil-on-plug setups.

So i shouldnt see a need to run a wasted spark if its not neccesary.

so does anyone have a definitive answer for this? in the evo world you intercept the crank or cam angle sensor and this gives the piggyback the correct "timeframe" to modify timing advance or retard.

The blue e-manage wires into the ignition coils. It's also not the most effective at retarding timing. The short time I tried to develop a timing map the engine would detonate before VTEC, even with 0's in the map. Which was in RPM and load areas the car never detonated before. I'd have to retard the timing 10 degrees to keep it from detonating. I never bothered to fininsh a complete map. It was going to be a destructive process and I allready had a Vortech timing controller that was effective.

I ended up using both the blue e-manage and the Vortech controller.

wow... there is a serious lack of good tuning solutions for the s2k. i'm so dismayed.
