How do I take this out?
I heard we can take out that big platform behind our heads/seats if it vibrates too much with our top up when we bump our sound systems loud. I have that problem. I have a 12-inch sub in a trunk enclosure. Or do we need this help support the soft top when our top is down? Does this platform even serve a purpose?

You could take it out but you'd be left with an big hole and an exposed fuel tank.
And it's a bugger to get out. You have to pull out about 7 pop studs in a difficult area then drop the parcel shelf out through the trunk. Did mine about a week ago to access the fuel pump.

I would think that you would want it in so the top would have something to sit on when down. You may want to take it out and add some weather stripping where it contacts the other shelf components. I did this to get rid of some noise back there.

Also pay attention to the clips that you remove. They are not all the same size/type and you want to get them back together the way that they were, or it will rattle even more. A Helms manual is really handy for interior disassembly.
