God damn upper starter bolt. I took out the lower one at first but finally got the thing out. Thanks for your help guys!

Thanks again guys - I got the clutch & PP bolted up and have the tranny bolts in. Taking a break for Nascar and beer.

Usually it's leaving the fork in that stops you.
