Just got it back from the shop with a brand new engine totally under warranty

I wanna make sure i do everything exactly right, but I don't know exactly what that is. I have heard that I should change the oil now (230 miles on new engine) and then again 500 from after that, then change every 3750. And to drive at 4000 rpm or less for the first 1500 miles, but I wanna hear from some true S2K enthusiasts what to do. Anybody know?

Thought I should add that when i brought it home from the dealer the engine smelled like something was burning, and it was because the oil was low. Two quarts low to be exact, so I added 2 quarts of oil... Just so you know that it's not full of factory oil

Let me get this straight - you just got a new engine - the dealer underfilled it by 2 quarts?!!???? You smelled something "burning". I would not be worrying about break-in; I would be worried about broke-in. I would be back at the dealer documenting what you found, in case the bearings go south shortly.

That said, I would change the oil at 500 rpm, then go to regular change intervals for your driving style.

Did you ask them if they added a can of moly to the engine?

Since it's a new engine, there was likely some oil dripped on the manifold, which would have caused the burning smell. I'm assuming you didn't get any lights on the way home, like a "Check Engine Light". If that's the case, there's likely no harm done. But as Road Rage said, go back to the dealer and get it documented to cover your butt.
