How do I know my clutch disk is aligned properly?
So my new clutch is in (I did use an alignment tool) and I'm trying to put the transmission back on. I get to the point of about 1 cm betwen the transmission and the block and it will not go any further. Would the spindle be in the disk by now, or is something else in the way? I know there are guide pins on the transmission, but they look lined up with the block. No matter how much I wiggle the transmission, it won't go any further.
Just curious if I need to re-align the disk before I lower the transmission. (swapping the clutch isn't fun using jackstands to hold the car up)

Billman schooled me on reinstalling the S2k trans when I was over that way one night. try putting the gear selecter in 4th and turning the output of the trans while guiding the trans back onto position to get seated. Also I didnt have a trans jack so I used a motorcycle jack which worked VERY well and offered alot of stability and height adjustment.
