how to compress rear brake piston

Rotate the tool clockwise or counter clockwise? Both are mentioned above .....

Also heard a new term in another thread about rebuilding calibers...... anti-clockwise I assume this is the same as counter clockwise

I would think so. I guess it sounds more technical then just clockwise

I remember the first time I tried to change rear pads on my 88 Legend. Couldn't get the piston to press in. I thought "maybe I can turn it and it will loosen up". Viola!

By the way, make sure you get the little nubs on the back of the new pads into the slot of the piston or they won't engage flat against the rotor.

i don't disagree with that. i've actually just never heard anyone say anti-clockwise, either foreign or domestic

the first thing i did when i ran across it the other day was look it up, so yeah i know it's a word. what's funny is, in dictionary.com's sentence using it, they use the term counter-clockwise.
