How can I tell if my shift knob is OEM titanium and not aluminum?

I know this shifts gears on the thread (pun intended), but I just polished my stock AL knob. I also lowered it and removed the shift pattern off the top. It's a huge improvement in most conditions. It is so smooth that it sticks to my palm better, except if I have a lot of moisture on my palm from like holding a cup of cold soda with condensation on the cup. In that case, the palm will slide off the knob. I had a VOODOO knob. It was nice and low, but way too girthy.
