Can anyone give me some advice on a cost-effective repair?
I have to fix a brake fluid leak (very slight but its got to be fixed and besides its taking the paint off the inner fender!). The car is a Nissan Figaro and the leak is coming from the brake proportioning valve fitted to the left-side inner front fender.
The complication is that a new valve from Nissan is

It occurs to me that leaks in a braking system are not the place to be skimping ![wink.gif](https://www.s2ki.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
If that's a removable cover though, why not open it up and try resealing it with some sort of compatible gasket material? I'll bet the source of the leak is internal to the valve and the leak out the top is due to an internal part or seal failing. Again, not the place I'd be looking to save a dollar.

Its not a fast car and its got two braking curcuits so I may try what you have suggested. Have you ever taken one of these valves apart (I'm guessing there is probably a powerful spring under that cover)?
