how accurate is the stock guage cluster?
i was thinking of getting together with some local businesses to develop a analog s2k tach. but i wanted to know...how accurate is the stock tach? i know there are some tachs that can be a few hundred rpm behind the motor @ times in the high rev range...but i wanted to know how the digi tach holds up

the digital should be more accurate than an analog... if you're developing an analog cluster, I think many would be interested if it resembled a Stack cluster and had some similar functionality with the LED display below the tach.

thats funny cause i went to court because of a speeding ticket where the cop said he got me on raydar doing 80 when i was doing 68. i even had a witness.. the cop just pulled me over cause my car is red and loud.... anyway, i brought my witness to court and told my sotry and the judge said that my speedo was prob. wrong!!!! i said my car new and its digital so i know exactly how fast i'm going... the cop's raydar is prob. off.
i lost needles to say.... i don't have gears or anything to through of my speedo. oh well.

The stock speedo is very accurate. What you should've asked was for some calibration records of the cops radar.
The stock speedo matched an up-to-date calibrated police radar at 90mph on the dot. I really dont see any reason to change it and I think the tach works perfect. The only reason one might want to change it is if they can't see it blink before the limiter since it blinks at such a rapid pace. The blinking might come out to be only a constant light not flashes. Then again, if their vision is like that, they shouldn't have taken so many tabs of LSD to get to that point
Long story short, waste of time trying to market it out.
BTW, I'm 99% sure all the circuits are analog in the cluster.
