I think its from the catalytic converter.
cuz the cars in US has a thicker catalytic converter.
I remember when i used to have Mercedes SLK imported from Germany, race my friend with his SLK imported from US. it was really easy to pass him. but once he changed the catalytic converter in his car, there was Big difference in the performance in his car, especially in High RPMs.

the reason I was asking is because I was flipping through my HyperRev catalog and it had a test-n-tune section that had an S making 267ps at the wheels.
The parts list includes:
-Amuse 1000 exhaust
-Amuse header
-Mugen Intake
-Amuse Hi-Tech ROM ecu plug-in
if the car will make that much power I think will invest in some of those parts.
if you guys are interested at looking at the catalog i will bring it to the next Torrance Starbucks meet or you can go pickup No.76 HyperRev catalog.

US/Aus compression is 11.1:1
JDM compression is 11.7:1
The difference is a result of the thinner head gasket.
They can run a higher compression because they have a higher RON fuel.
The higher PS readings are a result of two thing:
1. The conversion factor 250 ps = 247 hp
2. Higher compression
Corrections:
Higher octane fuel will not result in higher power. It can allow higher compression and timing set ups which will result in more power but by itself does nothing (except reduce the chance of the ECU pulling power under extreme conditions).
The reason the Japanese S with Amuse/Mugen bits and sh!ts quotes 267ps at the wheels is that Japanese publications are about as accurate as most threads in S2000 Talk and have as much integrity as election promises. Super Double Extreme Power!

You sure that was at the wheels? It's also probably done on a dynapack which reads higher. The Amuse ECU needs to run on higher octane gas which you won't be able to get either. So if you are expecting anything near those numbers, forget it.
the exact parts they used are:
-Mugen air cleaner & box
-Amuse R1 EX header
-Amuse R1000 Exhaust
-Amuse Hi Tech-Rom CPU
...and the exact power rating is 267.7 PS @ 8455rpm
and
...and 23.4 KG-M @ 6845rpm ( i did the conversion and it equals about 169.25 ft.lbs, i think
)i figured it was too good to be true.
