The reason I am considering the injectors is because I am not sure what quality of fuel the previous owner used. I'm going to try plugs first. Anyone know a good place to get plugs online?

Type of driving, temperature, and fuel will make some difference in mileage. This may be cold weather.

The largest influence is your right foot... my car goes from 8mpg at the track to 32mpg when I am stuck behind traffic doing a steady 55. I usually get 22, or about 240 miles on a tank.

An AP2 with DBW gets the best mileage, but not great and variable.

I'd suggest inspecting the plugs first, in case you might not need to replace them yet.

Miles per tank is a pretty good ballpark for miles per gallon. I basically put 10-10.5 gallons every time I fill up so if I get 220 a tank that it 21.5 +/- 1mpg. So it's pretty obvious that something has changed the OP's fuel mileage unless he randomly started filling up sooner and didn't account for that, which I don't think is the case.

With that said, the most I've ever got out of a tank was 260-270 miles. 50/50 city/hwy. I average 220-230.

comparing miles per tank is stupid unless all of you that do it run the car until it dies. If you don't, then that means you all are filling it at different times (read: filling different amounts) making this comparison ridiculous. Not to mention, you guys mention filling up 10-11 gallons...well, 1 gallon makes a big difference if you're getting 25mpg! So someone who is saying: "I get 250 miles per tank" and someone else saying "I only get 225 miles per tank, WTF?!?" could be getting the same exact mileage if you both are using the "estimate" of 10-11 gallons filled per tank when one guy is actually filling up 11 gallons while the other is filling 10 gallons.

As others have said MPG is the ONLY way to go about it. It's such an easy calculation, I don't see what the big deal is.

I do both. But I use my ballpark 220 as my expected time to fill up. I would imagine the OP did the same thing, thus noticed when he all of a sudden dropped off.

I do agree that it would be a poor way to compare two different cars with two different driving and refilling habits though.
