Hood release cable broke. Hood can't open
#21
Hi - newbie so I apologize if this is an outdated forum. Can someone help me understand where the cable for the hood is at so I can get to it from the front grill?
Long story short, I got back into town after a year from work (over seas)... And my battery died plus my valet key isn't getting me inside the car.
If I can get the hood opened up, I can try to boost or replace battery so my key fob can work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cars are easy to break into with the right tools which I suspect locksmiths have even in remote regions like Canada. Local police departments are skilled at this too as wives and girl friends (not us, of course) are always locking their keys in the car. The Auto Club can usually do it too.
Don't plan on the battery recovering after the parasitic discharge all year. It might but it's a slim chance. You'll know in a couple of weeks.
And get the real keys "she" lost too.

So I've been doing some research plus watching a few YouTube vids and apparently it isn't that hard to get to the hood latch once you get the car hoisted. Problem is none of the vids or reads that I've done show a S2000 - do any of you have any vids or photos of how I can get to the latch once I hoist the car (which I haven't figured out quite yet).
Otherwise my last resort is to have it towed to Honda and have the mechs there do it for me for a heafty price that would all likely take 30mins (maybe less).
