I did this to solve my hood latching problem. I also adjusted the little bump stops; it took a little bit of fiddling to get it just right.

A mickey mouse fix? How do you propose you adjust a hood latch to fix it then, Mr. Hourly? It went from i had to slam it to being smoooooth as butter.

I had this same problem...... I had called honda and ordered a new hood latch cable and a hood latch (just to make sure I did not have to reorder it and wait longer to fix it) I believe its all in the cable. Mine cable is 18 years old and the same thing happened to my civic. So just try replacing the cable if you can

Fix any damage from the mishap properly. Then adjust the hood latch and the bump stops and you are all set. The bump stop setting is important, not mickey mouse. But you need to be sure the damage from the mishap is properly repaired before you adjust the hood latching mechanism. Right now mine is set so that I have to drop it from about 10-12 inches and it latches perfectly and it is aligned perfectly. No worries, I can live with that.
