Um... I think perhaps I have done more to my S than 98.5% of all S owners... perhaps you have me mistaken with someone else. And nobody is really complaining. It's just a word to the wise that someone with no experience might want to reconsider doing the install him/herself. No need to get nasty. As for you doing other manifolds... those vehicles have different layouts than the S and this is an S forum. Agreed some knowledge can be transferred from car to car but this really isn't one of them. Nobody is doubting your knowledge. We're all friends here. Let's keep it civil.

My bad I was under the assumption that honda was using a metal/paper gasket on the s2k as well. I was just trying to help someone to prevent the mistakes I have made in the past

it is a metal gasket.

major mistake made was not to re-read the notes posted here before from someone else installing and having the fuel line crush washers onhand to replace the old ones, i.e. fuel line leaks leaving the car sitting until the next day when we could buy some.

it is not about getting dirty, it is about having all the right tools, space to do it, and time to do it in. small engine in a small place makes things hard to get to. 6 hours to replace a gasket makes it a long day.

as for 45hp... hmmm, 190 rwhp + 45 = 235 rhp! that is only a 5 hp loss from the whole drivetrain! NOT!! should not gain any HP, but on successive dyno runs, there will not be as rapid a loss or requirement to wait as long between runs for things to cool off. as Gernby already pointed out, the car will feel more powerful in stop and go driving because it will not heat up as much.

if my car was NA, i probably would not bother, but running the SC and no aftercooler yet, i think it will help me some around town.

LOL...I'm amazed at how easily Chris misled you guys. He's spent more time under the hood of our cars than (to coin a recently read phrase) 98.5% of all S owners. His 45 hp to the FRONT wheels was obviously said tongue in cheek...he KNOWS it's RWD. Maybe it would have been better if he had said 500 hp to the 5th wheel?

Yes. I haven't found any tradeoffs. I think it was silly for Honda to use a steel gasket in the first place.

you don't like the steel gasket!??!

try scraping off a paper one! i am GLAD honda switched to the steel one... it we had the paper gasket i wouldn't even consider installing the hondata gasket. how's this for fun :

it is a BITCH to have to do that with the head in the car on other hondas. NO FUN AT ALL!
