Tenblade:
Sorry for not offering you a Shiner.

fltsfshr:
The Hondata is PERFECT for a FI application. It is a very wise thing, anything you can do to remove heat from the intake charge is a good thing. It will have less of an effect than on an NA car (since the blower/turbo is already heating the charge) but a good idea nonetheless.

The intake manifold gasket has NOTHING to do with compression. It will not affect it whatsoever, whoever told you that is wrong. The only gasket that will affect compression is the head gasket.

dut:
I can do a manifold insulator on my D16Z Civic in about 20 minutes. I can remove the head in about 40 minutes. The S2000 is inordinately worse with those lower manifold bolts...

dut, in your last post on the washers you are correct (2 and 39).

gernby is not running FI. You don't have to worry about head temps, the cooling system will take care of that. The manifold does not act as an appreciable heat sink.

I am currently charging $210 for the labor (including washers and cooling) and $260 for the whole mess including the gasket.

Hi guys,
here in Italy we have the same problems as you with the S ... it just hates hot weather and slow traffic. Could you please let us know where this gasket is available? any web site or pics?

Thanks!

Here's an update. I actually felt a littlew bit of heat bog today, but it was VERY minor compared to before.

I'm a little concerned about the flow of the coolant through the motor. I haven't looked closely at the design, but my concern is that coolant circulation may be stifled or stopped in some parts of the motor, due to the redirection/blocking that the gasket does. those parts of the motor may heat up significantly more than other parts, and thus expand that much more, but this may not be detected by a measurement of the overall heat at the top of the motor (as some had done).

opinions?
