I can't imagine they will harass you about that.

They can deny your claim. Their logic: larger wheel = more weight = more stress on drive train & other components.

To answer your question...No, you wont get warranty denied, especially since they are OEM.

Most techs won't noticed you have AP2 wheels on a AP1. It's not like they are going to cause a failure anyway.

Trust me, I have seen such idiotic explanation for denial of claims before

I am with vtec9 on this one. I know, because I specifically asked them about this when I had my AP1. I was trying to just add some flair with Version 1 AP2 wheels, but I wanted to make sure everything would be fine. They told me the suspension was not designed for such a wheel, and that it would be considered a modification to the drivetrain and suspension; voiding my warranty in the process.
Trust me, Honda will get out of fulfilling warranty work any way they can. No explanation is too low or unreasonable. They will never stand by their obligations because there are too many loopholes for them to utilize. I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to replace a speaker a week after I bought my car before they reluctantly covered it.
If I were you, I would not base my decision (on this or any other change to a stock car) on whether or not the "modification" will void our warranty. Why? Because everything will.
Just remember the S is a fairly solid car. You know the weak points (differential, tranny, etc), so keep those in mind, and modify accordingly.

The tech's may not recognize the change, but the inspectors they send out from Honda are trained to point out EVERY change from stock. When my differential was blown, the inspector made a big deal about tire markings in my wheel well in back; stating abuse. They will amaze you in how low they go.
