The beefier trunk springs come with the rear spoiler that you buy from Trevor (OEM Honda parts). You'll need to buy a trunk spring remover tool along with the rear spoiler if you want to replace the stock ones.

I self-installed the rear spoiler. I didn't bother changing out the trunk springs as it works fine without the upgraded springs. The trunk doesn't pop up as much, but it does pop up for you to open the trunk. The trunk also stays in place even with the added rear spoiler weight with the stock springs.

Good luck.

Mine barely moves now, so I suspect the dealer did not even bothered installing the springs.
I have the new springs and get maybe a 1/2" travel.

Are the springs measurably different? How can I tell I have got the original springs? I'm convinced I do, but don't want to make a fool of myself if I'm wrong.

Luis, I don't know how to tell just by looking at the springs. However, I do have the Honda spoiler and upon unlatching the trunk it lifts up, on its own, about 1 inch. Hope this helps.

I put the spoiler on myself and decided to change out the springs, I couldnt tell them apart off the car except for the piece of tape I put to differentiate And I get he same anount of travel with the new springs as I did with the originals before and after the weight of the spoiler. Those were a pain in the but to install that or Im stupid

Well, if the trunk lifts at all, then you have the new springs. I installed the springs first (bad move). The trunk lid takes off when you pop the trunk.
