Honda oil filter longevity.

I do mine every 4 months no matter what. Makes it easy to remember for me (calendar method lol). I never have more than 3k per OCI.
I run dino oil and don't sweat it. I always replace the filter and cut it open once a year...typically during warmer months when I drive harder. The filter is like $9 online and takes a couple extra minutes to change. Blows my mind why some folks decide not to change it.
As for opening up the system to allow dirt to get in...just stop changing your oil filters in sand storms and you should be ok.

I'm getting ready to do my second oil change soon. Going 7k miles on syn blend with a new filter each time. The cost is not high enough for me to worry about.

True there are many different things to consider.
I don't think people are having failures due to media fatique. The interval is most likely set to prevent it going into bypass, at low rpm, when it clogs.
So I assume a low mileage engine with fresh seals and low wear could do the recommend change out easily. Maybe even high mileage, its a Honda.
As for leaving dirty oil in the filter, dirty is a relative term, it could be considered clean downstream of the filter, maybe even cleaner than what you poured out the bottle. Depends on the performance of the filter and the cleaniness of the oil manufacturer.
But then again, the filter has different beta ratios for different micron ratings, so if you run it longer then there is always a chance some small particles that were caught are then push past the media during start up when the oil is cold and thick.
Just remember if you change it more often you are opening the system more in which dust and dirt can get in.

Anyone know what a good interval to change OEM oil filter? 3k, 6k,...etc
I debating between changing dino oil every 3k (and 6k for filter) or
mobil 1 every 6k (along with the filter).

i work at a dealership and i have heard of a lady driving a dodge truck for 50,000 miles and never changing her oil or filter. the dealership turned her away but her crappy dodge engine had not blown up.
