Dhess, I didn't actually say I blame the poor guy, but think about it from Honda's point of view. They think they have a good quality product, and have few returns. Yet one person brings back 3 engines in a few months? I think any reasonable person would have to think. "Well, what is unique about this case that doesn't happen in any other case..." And one obvious answer is the owner.

Honda has just agreed to replace my engine under warranty. Yeah!! That's very good news for me. As for the mechanics, yes, many of them were pretty green with the S2K. That's definitely the case with the first engine replacement done at Steven's Creek. They had to contact techline many times. The mechanics that I have worked with at Los Gatos are all really great guys. Several of the staffers have gone through a great deal of effort to resolve my driveability problems and see to it that the engine problem was resolved fairly. I hope to have my S back on the road in a couple of weeks. The dealer was not sure exaclty how long it would take for the parts to arrive. Thanks again to everyone for your knowledge and support.

Congratulations DivineDesign,
I am really glad that everything worked out for you.
My question is why couldn't they do that from the beginning? Great customer service! Why must we pursue treat of judicial system or go through judicial system to just have them honor their warranty?

Excellent! I know there are some anxious moments with $10,000 hanging in limbo, but if you check my short block thread, almost everyone with a catastrophic engine failure has had a warranty or courtesy repair at Honda's expense(other than obvious owner abuse liking running with zero oil or revving the poor thing to 11,000 on a missed downshift).
dhess, it is incredible that Honda of Australia isn't doing as well for you.
